Fed Transparency Petition Update

As of yesterday, over 4,700 people had signed the petition by Alan Grayson to get Democrat co-sponsors of Ron Paul's HR1207 bill to audit the Federal Reserve. Even more importantly, 14 members of the House Of Representatives have joined Raul Grijalva, bringing the total cosponsors to 181. For an indication of why the Federal Reserves needs significant oversight, I refer you to a post highlighting the Fed's skyrocketing balance sheet, which shortly will surpass $3 trillion, mostly as a result of monetizing U.S. treasury and MBS purchases.

The following are the most recent bill cosponsors:

Rep Pastor, Ed [AZ-4]
Rep Brown-Waite, Ginny [FL-5]
Rep Altmire, Jason [PA-4]
Rep Latta, Robert E. [OH-5]
Rep Reichert, David G. [WA-8]
Rep Rogers, Mike J. [MI-8]
Rep Berry, Marion [AR-1]
Rep Schauer, Mark H. [MI-7]
Rep Scalise, Steve [LA-1]
Rep Forbes, J. Randy [VA-4]
Rep Ross, Mike [AR-4]
Rep Berkley, Shelley [NV-1]
Rep Welch, Peter [VT]
Rep Thornberry, Mac [TX-13]

If you have not already done so, call your Congressman and tell them to endorse this most critical initiative, and also sign the petition supporting HR1207 here. Sphere: Related Content
