It's one of those mathematical optical illusions. Like which line is longer the vertical or horizontal.
Verizon makes a lot of money overcharging people and hoping that people don't have enough time to argue with it. I and my assistant have spent HOURS on the phone with them trying to resolve incorrect charges. I think it's probably a good business model for them, because if you just refuse to pay, they hit your credit rating, but nothing happens to them if they overcharge.
